Francisco and Alex haunting the swimming pool
I have been having some more fun with a 35mm film camera, and wanted to put up some of my faves from my first couple color rolls.
I'm still very much stumbling through the dark, but I managed to got some interesting images (I think) and some nice memories.
Gummy worm swimming in the pool.
Alex and Sage
Alex and the sea - he caught at least a dozen dogfish that day.
Catching the bus.
I wanted to take a picture of all the pigeons perched on top of the mysterious subway infrastructure building, but a bus passed in front of me at the last second. I almost died for this one, but it's all worth it if I post, no? It sort of looks like a collage zoomed in like this. (That's me in the bottom left!).
Sneakers on cathedral steps
This one I also enlarged and cropped. It's overexposed(?) and not a stellar image, but it brings to mind walks with Francisco and taking a break to talk on the steps of St. John the Divine's. I also like the blue lines on the sneaker and the neon red/white car zipping by. Also, Francisco feet pic! lmao
Trying to nap in Bryant Park
This one has a fairy-tale vibe to me: he seems so separate from the aggressively urban city hovering above, sealed off by the glass stalls, and protected by a fairy light shining down from the tops of the trees.

A man and his trash on 108th street
Earlier this summer I got one of those disposable kodak cameras like those cool hipsters use, and let me tell you, the rush of picking up the prints at the photo studio on w 94th street was quite the thrill! You fill this little camera with a bunch of desperately snapped photographs, and the wait between capturing the moment and seeing what you caught is fun in itself.
This one looks like a painting I think - neat!
Plus, there is a physical effect when you take the picture; each shot has a cost, both to your ammunition store and to your wallet. Will it anything like what you pictured, or will it be a stinker? Or maybe it's a stinker, but look sort of cool anyways. You don't get the instant gratification of an iPhone or digital camera, nor its practically unlimited storage, but that makes it a bit more mysterious.
Ooo, lens flare
Anyways, it was a very satisfying tactile experience, so I hopped on EBay and bought an old Rikoh point-and-shoot 35 mm film camera, cleaned out the goo and gunk that was clogging up the shutter release mechanism, loaded some film, and started snapping away 🤓! I watched about 5 minutes of instructional youtube videos on taking film photographs, set it to full auto and let her rip. These are some of the highlights of that first B+W roll! Extremely amateur, it goes without saying, but these are my favorites.
The gang in central park
Reader, I have a radical, dare I say unprecedented idea: I've decided to create a space on the internet where I can put some written content.
Bear with me: I hope to use this blog to keep a chronicle of what's going on in my life, write about any projects I'm working on, or any opinions and thoughts I feel like setting down in ink (well, pixels). If that sort of Bradley content interests you, welcome aboard! If not, well, I hope you find some entertainment at the least.
I've been just living life in New York City. Some (more or less) recent things:
Other than that I am still working as a web developer, spending time with my partner and being in my mid-20s.
Honestly I'm not sure what this blog will turn out like. I suppose I have a certain inner impulse to write again. Not quite sure what I have to say exactly, perhaps I just miss the mental exercise. The converging of thoughts onto the page narrows the attention, has a calming effect on the mind. Make up crap like that, you know? Also, I do want to make use of the React components I coded. So, read on if you must!
